Ebner Street, London
Having found the site for a client, Will designed and built this 3100 sq ft house in 2000 for a family who subsequently moved abroad. Flanked by houses on three sides, the challenge of the original build meant that they had to get the angles right, and had to find a solution that respected privacy on all sides. The solution was to use glazed panels on the roof which combined the functional demand for privacy with the formal desire to create a bright modernist home with open plan living spaces flooded with light. The internal vistas work on two axes, from the gallery above but also horizontally.

The current owners then commissioned us to substantially reconfigure the house to suit their very different needs and to house their extensive collection of mid century furniture. This included incorporating an additional adjacent house to make an 1800 sq ft artistís studio with flat a
